Happy Halloween!

We headed over to Auntie Linda's and Uncle Steve's for some yummy spaghetti and trick-or-treating tonight. These pictures are out of order for some reason, but here is Wyatt ready to hit the street in search of some candy.
His buddy Doctor Brooklyn was quite the mentor when it came to helping the 'first-timer.'
Mister independent could have cared less where I was as long as he knew where Brooklyn was.
Firefighter Wyatt ready for some trick-or-treating!
This was when we first got there. Wyatt had quite the dramatic welcome. Brooklyn's brother Noah had a scary mask on that freaked him out, then he had to walk by the ghost. Then when we got in the house, Uncle Steve had some toys that made spooky noises.
Wyatt started crying and that set of a noise activated witch. I haven't seen Wyatt so scared. He was clinging to me and shaking so bad.
Once we got a couple things turned off, and Uncle Steve put on some music he had his own little dance party.
Here's Wyatt with all the other kiddos that were there.
Happy Halloween everyone!

Welcome Baby Jax

A friend of mine from work had a baby boy last week and Wyatt and I finally got to go meet him tonight.Jax was just over 6 pounds when he was born, so he is a tiny little thing, but oh so sweet!
Wyatt couldn't wait to hold him. He was so gentle and sweet. He is going to make such a good big brother!!! We can't wait.

The boy loves belts

So Wyatt was 'helping' me sort the tubs of maternity clothes I brought in from the garage and got from Kim. He really liked the belts.
The black one made a perfect leash for his friend Clifford.
And he had a blast trying to figure out my belly band. If he only knew what this was for. :)

A boy and his tub

Wyatt emptied out his toy tub last night and had such a good time just playing with the tub.
He found his long-lost friend Clifford at the bottom. He kept hugging him and saying, "oh my friend!"
Where's Wyatt?

Everyone loves a good junk drawer!

Wyatt was helping me make muffins yesterday and got a bit distracted when he discovered my utensil drawer. His favorite was the tongs. Look at that concentration!
At one point I think he had every utensil out on the counter and was trying to pick each one up with the tongs. It was great to just watch him and see him explore each item as he took it out.

Putting everything in perspective

So for the last few weeks I feel like I have done nothing but whine. I have horrible morning, sickness all day long, Collin is never home and when he is he has tons of studying to do. We are counting the days until he is done with EMT class (two more weeks in case you were wondering!). And I had parent-teacher conferences this week, which always gets me fired up. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one that cares how the kids are doing in school. And did I mention Wyatt has officially entered the terrible twos? Yesterday I had to drag him screaming and kicking from our neighborhood park and then today we had to leave Target with him in full tantrum. So just when I am at the peek of my complaining, I click over to check out my friend Stephanie's blog. It was kind of like a smack back to reality.
For those of you that don't know, Steph and I worked together the year I was pregnant with Wyatt and her little Harper was born just 9 days after him. Her and her family are now living in Texas, while her husband is serving in Afganastan and you have to click on her blog to see the pieces they have been doing on his company. For the last three days I have checked out her blog and been in awe of this family. Here I am complaining about my morning sickness and she is raising two girls under the age of 3 while her husband is deployed for a year. I complain because I only saw Collin for 20 minutes yesterday and the only way she sees her husband is to see him on the news. So I guess I need to spend more time enjoying those 20 minutes I get with Collin! I have to say it was weird to see someone I know in that setting, and when it showed him talking about his girls it melted my heart!
And since I don't like posts without any pictures. Here are a couple from about 2 years ago. This is Wyatt and his friend Harper (Steph's oldest) shortly before they moved to Texas.

I love this picture because the key chain that she is playing with hold several pictures, so the night we were babysitting Harper we filled all of them with pictures of Wyatt so she wouldn't forget him. :)

Costume Take 2

Since Wyatt is really into Curious George right now, we got him a very cute monkey costume to wear for Halloween. Well after several attempts, I gave up. He refused to wear it. Tears and everything. So I returned it today and got him this cheap fire fighter coat and hat. And I have to say, it's worth every penny! He loves it and wore it for about 1/2 hour today.
It's a little big, but I think that makes it even cuter!
Time to fight some fires!

Pumpkin Patch

We took advantage of a great fall day and headed to the local pumpkin patch. We had so much fun on all the rides we ran out of time. We didn't get to take the train ride out to the patch, but Wyatt wandered around the play area and found this perfect pumpkin for "Baby Peanut." Wyatt loved this little pumpkin and wouldn't let go of it. We even had a little meltdown when he wasn't allowed to take it to bed with him.He LOVED driving the John Deer!
Oh so proud of himself!!
Then it was time for a train ride!
Wyatt absolutely LOVED this! He had this grin on the entire time. They drove around the patch and through a tunnel. Since Wyatt has developed a fear of the dark over the last week or so, we were expecting him to kind of freak out when they went into the tunnel and we were at the end waiting to comfort him. Well as the emerged out of the tunnel we just got a simple wave! Sometimes this kid really surprises me!
He also loved the giant slide! I have to say my tummy didn't love it too much!
So Daddy had to take him the second time, but I think he would have gone by himself if we would have let him!

Busy day on the job

Wyatt had quite the day when he was home with Daddy on Friday...He absolutely LOVES his new rubber boots. They are his 'fire fighter boots'
And on Friday he had to put out some fires so he used the hose on his vacuum as the fire hose.
Needless to say, Daddy was quite proud and said he was a natural with his technique.
Then in true Rookie Fire Fighter fashion, he worked right through snack time. No time for breaks when you have studying to do!

Random Pictures

These are just some random pictures from the last few days.Wyatt has a video of 'Super Grover' where he teaches them to fly. This is Wyatt flying 'this way, and that way!'
Mr. Helpful likes to help set the table now. And it is oh so helpful!
Don't worry, our sharp knives are on the counter!
Wyatt got yet another fat lip yesterday. He was trying to take his own coat off and when the arms got stuck he tried to run to me for help and fell forward. Yep, with his arms tangled behind him. Face plant! He only cried for about a minute, but needed his 'boo buddy' for the rest of the afternoon. Even after it was no longer cold.
We are still refusing to even sit on the potty. Tonight he wanted to read his bathroom books so he just decided the floor was place to be.
This pictures just kills me. It looks like he should be heading to first grade!

A boy and his lamb

One thing I am very thankful for is that Wyatt is likes to snuggle. And since loosing his bloppy, Mr. Lamb seems to be getting more snuggles lately.

Die Hard Fan

I had this hat in the 'too small' pile ready to go into the garage, but Wyatt got a hold of it and insisted on wearing it all morning. I guess he just wanted to show he's still supporting the team even though it's been a pretty bad season. Maybe I can get him to start watching volleyball, I hear they are having a good season!

No more Bloppy!!!!

Since we are pretty much failing in the potty training department, it feels great to have a small victory!Wyatt was so attached to his 'bloppy' it was driving us nuts. It was to the point that he asked for it anytime he got in trouble, bumped his head, or just saw it. I was dreading the day we decided to take it away. I was ready for some screaming fits.

Well I am happy to say I was completely wrong. Sunday night Collin put him to bed and just told him 'no' when he asked for it. He went to sleep fine and only woke up once and asked for it. We ignored him and he went to back to sleep. We are now on night three of our 'bloppy-free' life and loving it. He only asks for it from time to time, but we pretty much ignore him and he moves on.
He is still attached to his Mr. Lamb and boo-blanket, but he can pack those things around until first grade for all I care. I am just happy the bloppy is gone. Thanks Collin for taking the bull by the horns and just doing it!!

Can you say goofball?!

Halloween Cookies

Since the trip to the pumpkin patch got rained out, we decided to make some cookies instead.See Momma, I am getting quite good at this
I got it just right!
Wyatt's favorite part was to scoop the cookies on to the sheet.
Just a few sprinkles!

Look at that concentration!
Hummmm, I wonder where he gets that from?
These weren't my best cookies ever. I learned that wheat flour isn't a good substitute when making sugar cookies! But Wyatt sure enjoyed eating the frosting off.
