A week after Caden had his little bug, Wyatt came down with a fever. We cancelled our plans for Friday and had a lazy day. Got lots of sleep lots of fluids and we thought he was good as new Saturday just in time for Collins reunion. After a day in the pool the boys stayed with Ppa. Well shortly after they came home Sunday morning the puke started. Lucky for us it was short and so far only Wyatt got it. We werent sure if he had two different bugs or just one, until he admitted to us that he didnt feel well on Saturday but really wanted to go swimming. Well sorry to any of the other dozens of kiddos that he may have passed it to, when it comes to a pool Wyatt is a good actor.

Great Wolf Lodge
Two years ago on our first trip to great wold we spent most of the time standing and watching the boys in the toddler area. Last year both boys were obsessed with the smaller yellow and red slides. Wyatt was tall enough for the inspires but wanted nothing to do with them. What a difference a year makes. This time both boys could go on all the slides. So we started off on the biggest one (not counting the tornado one). The best part was all 4 of us were in one tube. I took one look at Caden's face and thought he would be heading back to the toddler slides. But nope he thought it was awesome. So instead of standing around watching we climbed and slid for 2 days. So much more fun and exhausting.
There he goes all by himself!
Last time we were there the boys were so excited to do the new mini golf. Caden did one hole and was done. This time we did it both days and Caden kept asking to go back again!

Quick bug
After Caden was up a couple times Friday night coughing and gagging I thought he was having some allergy issues and didn't think much of it. Well just as we were getting ready to head to some friends' for dinner he curled up on the couch with me. He felt warm so I took his temp. Yep, poor bub didn't even want to watch a show. After canceling our dinner plans I got two hours of this. And I have to admit, although I was sad he didn't feel well, I love every minute of the snuggles.
And after going to bed with a fever, he slept over 12 hours and woke up good as new.

NW Trek
We took a family outing to Northwest Trek today. Oh gosh, why have we not done this before? So much fun. The first thing we did was the tram ride.So many cool animals up close in their natural habitat.
I know the buffalo is blurry, but it shows you how close they walk by and how big he was.
Had to stop several times for various animals
We had an escort to finish our tour, a very slow one. This guy was HUGE and not a care in the world.
Then it was off to try the zip-line/ropes course. Oh my goodness this was a blast. A great family outing with fun had by ALL! I had to crack up at them 'testing out' Caden's harness.
The boys listened so well to the guide. So well that once they passed the test she was gone and we were on our own (which comes into play a bit later when Caden got a little stuck)
Caden said this one was his favorite
ok, lots of videos, but they had so much fun I couldn't choose which ones to post and its funny to listen to them
Caden got a little stuck on this one. As you can see he didn't step off at the end and ended up dangling in the middle. :) I looked around for some backup, but nope. I had to pull him in and wait for Collin to backtrack. Then after a few tears he was ready to go again as long as Collin was there to catch. He was a trooper. Never once said he wanted to quit, which is huge for Caden. He usually does something for 2 minutes and wants to move on to something else.

Ice cream truck!
Boys were so excited to hear the ice cream truck last night. The entire time they were eating it Caden kept reminding me that this was the first time they got ice cream from a truck.

Brave boy
Collin noticed that Caden's tooth was very loose and said, "Hey buddy, if we floss that tooth will come right out!" Caden says, "Ok, let's go!" And headed to the bathroom.
SO different then brother who refuses to even wiggle a loose tooth

Camping
Everyone was so excited to go camping! Got a new tent to fit all of us, 80 degree forcast everything was great.
First night was 'amazing' (inside joke for Aimee and John!) Perfect weather, excellent dinner and yummy smores.
Boys crashed hard, then us adults were kept awake by a screaming child until 2am. But no worries, we woke to another beautiful day.
This kid had a blast, drawing a map of our campsite, hanging out in the hammock, riding bikes, digging in the dirt
Had a little thunder and rain. Boys were champs. Hung out like this for about an hour while we waited it out.
When the sun came back out it was off to the Lake again. Collin and Wyatt had a blast on their first canoe trip. Caden wanted nothing to do with it, so he and I watched from the beach.
It was about at this point we heard thunder and saw the lightening on the other side of the lake. Needless to say, time to get out of the boat!
Headed back to camp to wait this storm out. Well, this was a biggy. As you can see on the ground behind the boys...not only thunder, lightening, pouring rain, but hail with no sight in end. While John and Aimee packed up to head home, Collin tried to start a fire to cook dinner. That's when we looked at each other and the sky and started loading the car. We had 2 very sad boys. They were troopers and wanted to stay. Right as we were explaining to them we would hit McDonalds for dinner instead of trying to cook in this weather there was a long, load roll of thunder and they quickly agreed and hoped in the car.
They were great! Didn't get dinner until about 7. They never complained once but ate dinner in record time. We didn't get home until after 9 and had 2 very tired boys. It was interesting to see the difference in how they act when they are tired. Wyatt was very quiet, almost lethargic at times. Caden on the other hand, wow, Mr. Goofy Didn't stop jabbering the entire way home. At one point he says, Mom I am only half tired. The part behind the pillow is tired, the half of me you see is wide awake!
