Just hanging out...

We were on the road so much the last few months, that it has been so nice to just hang out at home. And with the nice, but not HOT weather, we have got to spend lots of time enjoying the backyard. Wyatt likes to use Caden's fire engine to collect leaves.

Caden has finally figured out how to move his fire engine around. Only problem is, he can only go backwards. But he still loves it.

Tonight Wyatt wanted me to turn the sprinker on so he could 'run through it.'

And in an attempt to get this boy walking, we got out the mower. This actually worked out really well! He hated touching grass before, but wanted to push the bubble mower SO bad that he got over it and was walking all around the yard. He even fell down a couple times and didn't cry when his hands got grass on them! I have a video of some of it I will try to post later.

Saturday we ventured downtown to Sand in The City. We are all getting over colds and Caden was getting over bronchitis, so it was a short adventure, but it was nice to get out of the house! Daddy and Wyatt making a race car...

Most of the time I get laughing so hard I can't defend myself. By the end of this round I was so wet with Caden slobber, I needed to towel off. But I loved every second of it! :)

No training wheels?

Um, I didn't think so The other day, out of the blue, Wyatt told us that he wanted the training wheels off of his bike. Grant you, he has only had this bike for 4 months. But we said if he thought he was ready! Well this is about as far as he got. He HATED the wobbly feeling and wouldn't even pedal. So back on they went!

Bitter Sweet...

It's always so nice when we get to see and spend time with family. But it was with a heavy heart that Collin's entire family gathered in Spokane this weekend to say good-bye to his cousin Carrie. It has been quite a while since we have been over that way and this was the only picture I could find of Carrie. This is her with Wyatt just over 4 years ago. Goodness she loved holding him!
After a lovely service we all headed back to Collin's Aunt Carolyn's house for the afternoon. Wyatt had such a good time getting to know everyone.

I think Wyatt was a baby the last time most of them saw Wyatt so they got a kick out of seeing our little entertainer.

This is Wyatt with his Great Grandma Gross and Great Aunt Jan. Wyatt sure took a liking to Aunt Jan. Poor thing, couldn't get a break. I think I even saw him try to follow her into the bathroom. :)

He really enjoyed watching a slide show of Carrie pictures. We have been talking quite a bit about heaven the last week or so. Not sure he really gets it, but I think it helped for him to see pictures of who we were talking about.

Since the entire group doesn't get together very often, it was a perfect time for a photo shoot. I couldn't resist snapping this of all the guys getting their perfect shot. But I did have to steal Collin's camera to get it.

I had to post two pictures of this since this one was so good of Caden, but horrible of Wyatt, so the next one was for Wyatt. :)

We headed back to our condo in Moses Lake. Wyatt was SO good all day on Friday including sitting through a grave side service and the service at the church. So as promised he had a swimming day on Saturday! He was so excited, it was a stretch to get him to wait until 9:30 to go out. Collin and I took turns staying in the room with sleeping Caden (who was hit with a nasty cold like a ton of bricks!) so we each could swim with Wyatt. He has gotten so brave! He used to hate going on his back, now he it's his favorite thing to do.

And he must have jumped in 50 times!

Came into the kitchen the other day and found this...
I was actually surprised the door didn't seem strained at all by this. That's one heavy duty dishwasher! Later that day as I was doing dishes I look over and he was back on it and standing trying to reach the water in the sink.

Some call it a cabin...

And some of us call it a gorgeous house in the woods, walking distance to the lake. Whatever you call it, it was so nice of Val's brother's in-laws (got that?) to let us use it for the weekend. The kids had lots of fun with all the toys there, including the beans! Wyatt has already asked if he can do this at home. I thought it would be a good winter time project.

Husky Picture Day

Last week we met Nana and Papa, Kimmer, Nate and Cole at Husky Stadium.

It was a fun event to meet players, play on the field and in the bouncy helmet. But goodness it was too hot. So we made our trip around the field, got a couple autographs and pictures and headed back into the comfort of AC.

Sand box

It seems like Caden is changing every day. In the last week he has really matured. His favorite thing is to play trains with Wyatt. And he actually sits and plays without putting things in his mouth. This evening Wyatt wanted him in his sandbox with him. I was a little worried, but he loved the beach so why not.
He loved it and actually was pouring the sand on himself. Something that he did NOT like at the beach. But then shortly after this he picked up an entire handful and ate it. Ever tried getting wet sand out of a baby's mouth? Not really possible. The funny thing is, he didn't seem to mind.

We have pumpkins!!

I am not sure who is more excited...Wyatt or me. I am just excited that I haven't killed it yet since the only plant I seem to not kill is hydrangeas. And I am pretty sure you couldn't kill those if you tried. We have one vine that has 5 little pumpkins on it and then a few others. This is the biggest one right now. It's about the size of a baseball. Kind of makes me excited for fall, just so we can watch them turn orange and get HUGE!!

Keep 'em busy

Collin got called for an overtime shift today, which makes him working 72 hours straight. So I decided I better get thinking on what I am going to do to keep these boys busy since it happens to be the same time the rain has decided to show up. So I told Wyatt we are going to count the money in their piggy banks and go buy something. Later this morning I went into Wyatt's room and this is what I found. He was trying to get his bank down by himself. This is only about a month after he pulled his entire dresser down on himself. This is one of the few pieces of furniture we don't have anchored to the wall, but that may change very soon.
So after we had a little safety chat we headed out to count our money! I am starting to think I need to put a piggy in my room. These kids are loaded! Not sure who puts $5 and $1 bills in there, but we had a lot more than I thought we would. So we put half back in to take to the bank later, and packed the rest to take to the store.
