Firefighter Wyatt makes an appearance

Wyatt came out of his bedroom like this today.
He said he needed his outfit to read about the fire station

Bath time

Caden is finally starting to enjoy bathtime!

Sponge Painting

Gotta get it just right
Without getting any paint on my fingers

Then the artistic one in the family got in on it.
This is Wyatt adding pineapples to Daddy's palm trees. Those are some unique palm trees, I know!

Water fight

I spotted these water squirters at the Dollar Spot at Target. You know me, I can't pass up a deal. Wyatt had so much fun!So we headed outside to have a water fight!
Look out Mom!
I have to say, it was the easiest water fight I have ever been in. I had to beg him to squirt me, and ended up getting myself just to cool off.
But our flowers got a good drink. Actually this is the neighbors' tree, but oh well.

My new addiction!

So I got Photo Shop for Christmas and am just now getting around to playing with it and learning how to use it. These are my first two 'creations'

Living large

Caden got weighed while at the doctor today. Grant you, at 2 weeks he was just under 12 pounds. So we were all guessing he was pushing 13 maybe 14 pounds. Nope, at 7 weeks old this kid weighed in at 16 1/2 pounds! I was cracking up because they weighed him twice and checked to make sure the scale was working properly.

And yep, he has a hernia just like Wyatt's belly button did. Just quite a bit larger. Like with Wyatt this will go away sometime in the next year when his ab muscles get stronger.

More signs of summer

The scraped up knee!
Luckily he landed half on the cement and half on the grass. Or else he would have a matching scrape on his check. But Popsicles make everything better!

Goofballs

We were at Nana and Papa's this weekend and Cole and Wyatt had SO much fun. They loved being outside and went nonstop all weekend. I wish I could steal some of their energy!First it was tackle Nana
Then LOTS of Ring-around-a-Rosie
And when I say lots, I mean tons.
All weekend!
Are they tired? Nope, just resting for about a second, then right back up!
Time for some Row-Row-Row-Your-Boat with Papa

A style all his own!

Because nobody else would want it. :)This is what happens when you let a 3 year old choose his own outfit. :)

His secret

So now we know how Wyatt has become such a good big brother...
He has been reading my parenting magazines! :)

We got a Manny!

He checks on Caden about every 5 minutes when he is napping.
He keeps a very close eye on him when he is playing in his bouncy seat.
And even though it's 75 degrees in our house he insists on helping Caden stay nice and toasty warm!
And covers him right back up if he gets the blanket off.
He even folds laundry and helps me put it away!
What more could I ask for?!

Airplanes!

OK, Daddy, it's your turn for an airplane ride! Sit in this hamper.
Oh wait, you need this box on your lap for balance.
And your foot controllers are in this basket.
Here we go!!

Sleep!

We are finally getting some sleep around here. It seems the 'special bed' works. Each night has been a little better than the last. Last night he slept all the way until 3:15 before waking up. And then was only up for 45 minutes. Much improvement over being up for 2 hours at a time. He is even taking some nice long naps during the day. Which helps my sanity greatly!
And this kid continues to make sure he utilizes his entire bed each night!

Art Day

We went to the local library's art day for toddlers today. I have to say, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was pretty fun. We made paper bag puppets, which Wyatt loved! He's really into puppets lately.I was surprised at how well he did with the glue stick.
We need some work with the scissors. I need to get a lefty pair for him to work with I think.
His puppet was named Wyatt, but had to have glasses like Momma. :)
And the sad puppet got left in the car, so no finished picture yet.

Happy Boys!

'Special Bed'

We have had some long nights in the Murphy house the last week or two. So I finally called our doctor to discuss Caden's spitting up and lack of sleep. They think he has acid reflux and prescribed not only Zantac, but a sleeping wedge as well. So this is what Collin calls 'Caden's special bed.' We had to go to the hospital and get it fitted to him and everything. When we were there I saw several little boys getting fitted for leg braces and/or splints. It made me so thankful for our two healthy boys and glad I was there just for a sleeping wedge.
I know he looks totally uncomfortable, but this was when I was just showing Collin how he fits in it and we have since covered it with blankets and when he is swaddled in a blanket he is quite cozy. AND he did pretty well last night. Still a noisy sleeper, but a lot less spitting up and crying.

Daddy's helper

Collin and Wyatt surprised me while I was at the doctor yesterday and cleaned up the house a bit. Wyatt's job was to pick up all his train set so Collin could vacuum. This was how he did it (all by himself).
Then he vacuumed Caden's room. What a helper!

Awake time

Caden is starting to have a little bit more awake time these days. I have to say, I LOVE the color if his eyes. They are a dark navy blue. I hope they never change!

This morning he was really enjoying his mat time and was all smiles and cooing at the bugs

Who knows?

So after our morning/afternoon at the zoo, we had some friends stop by last night. While Wyatt was playing with his friend Addy, he fell in the kitchen floor. Since this is pretty much a daily event, I didn't even flinch. Well all of a sudden Wyatt was really fussy and clingy, and I thought that was due to no nap. Well about 15 minutes later we notice a mark in the middle of his forehead and a puffy bruised nose. I am not proud to say, that with 4 adults within a couple feet of him when he fell, we have no idea what he hit is face on or how this happened. But it hasn't slowed him down any, so it must not hurt that bad. Just ads some character right? Too bad daddy's stitched lip is healed. They would have been quite a pair.

Zoo

We met Nana, Papa, Auntie Kimmer and Cole at the zoo on Sunday. It was a fun morning with lots of crazy animals! Including these two knuckle heads. They are quite a pair.

Hippos!!
Wyatt petting a gecko. Obviously doesn't get his love for slimy things from me!

I have to say, this was one ugly lizard/dragon thing. And we got there just in time to see it eat some small furry thing for lunch. Lucky for us.
elephants!
3 Monkeys!
A trip to the zoo wouldn't be complete without an ice cream cone!
