Ocean Shores

The Burkes were in Ocean Shores for the weekend so we went and spent the day with them.
Lots of swimming in the condo pool
Somehow a big frog made it into the pool.  After Uncle Nathan got it out the kids had fun checking on it.
 Bumper Boats!!!
Yes, these are just as fun as I remember as a kid! And so much fun to hear Wyatt giggle the entire time

Wouldn't be a trip to Ocean Shore's without a stop at Murphy's Ice Cream!

While we were eating ice cream, Caden demolished his in a matter of minutes and as usual, Wyatt licked his and savored every moment as it melted into a puddle  :)
While we were waiting for Wyatt I turn around an see Caden in a pair of 'zebra sunglasses' and trying to look in the mirror. So for the next couple minutes he tried on all the different tacky sunglasses they were selling.  What a ham! :)

Summer fun

Boys and I made a trip around Capitol Lake!  1.6 miles and Caden only had to stop and rest one time!

 Great running buddies! :)

Then it was time to feed the ducks!
Not sure what the arm bands are, but Caden made himself a mustache the other day :)
I bought "THE BIG BOOK OF THINGS TO MAKE AND DO"
The boys had fun marking what pages they wanted to do over the summer. First one was 'Make your own slime.'  Basically corn starch and water. I couldn't get the mixture to mix very well so it never got the consistency it was supposed to. The boys had a blast though, and had green hands for 2 days! :)

 Loving the new hammock!
Caden's buddy Jon had the best birthday party (I mean Jedi training)
They go to make droids and complete a Jedi training to earn their light sabor just in time to battle Darth!

Caden graduated to big boy swimming lessons.

Chore chart!  The boys are so excited to earn money and love moving the magnets when they complete the chore!  We will see how long this lasts.
We joined the Children's Museum again this summer.
 picked 20lbs of strawberries!
I think the boys each picked 4 strawberries before they just played with the flag markers and whined to go home. But they sure have been enjoying the berries!

On thing that Caden couldn't wait to do from our new book was make a car powered by balloons.
I was busy making dinner and he decided he couldn't wait for me any longer and built it all by himself by looking at the pictures.  I have to say I was quite impressed.  He was pretty sad when it didn't actually go.

 Lowe's Build and Grow!
Best free event around, especially for a rainy summer morning

Happy Father's Day

Collin had to work on Father's Day so the boys got to visit him. What lucky kiddos, to spend the day 'performing boat rescues' and 'putting out fires.'

Congrats Ryan!

What graduation party would be complete without a game of Ladder Golf AND a epic light sabor battle?

 South Kitsap Class of 2014
Congratulations Ryan!!!

Bye-Bye Good Sheperd

After 5 years I am sad to say we are no longer a 'Good Shepherd Family.'
I remember when Wyatt was 3 asking around for preschool recommendations.  I had a 4th grade student at the time who's mom couldn't say enough good things about where he kids go.  I had no idea how great it was until Wyatt's kindergarten teacher told me, 'It has been a long time since I have seen a student as ready for kindergarten as Wyatt was.' As parents we take very little credit for that.  The lovely ladies at Good Shepherd have perfected the balance of academics, play, religion, social skills and love.  We are truly grateful for them and will miss them.  Caden had his end of year picnic. I pulled Wyatt out of school with me so we all could say good-bye.

 On his way to kindergarten

Caden's Birthday!

Wyatt told me he wanted to write a note to Caden so he could see it when he woke up on his birthday!  :)
Since his birthday was in the middle of the week we meet some friends from preschool at Chuck E. Cheese.

Ethan and Jon, Ethan and Jon. That's all Caden talks about after preschool.  He was so excited to start kindergarten until I told him that Ethan and Jon will go to different schools.  I remember this happening with Wyatt also, once they hit 5 they seem to really start making buddies and then preschool is over and everyone goes their separate ways.  Kind of sad.

Then to Red Robin for dinner and dessert! :)
Caden informed me that this was the best birthday present ever!
Over the weekend we had some more celebrations!  Ninja Turtle party with family and freinds

Which included a cousin sleep over!
