I found his secret!

So this is why Collin has been doing so well on his exams and getting all his work done. He has the cutest little helper ever! What a team!!

Keep him busy!

Wyatt loves to help me with my baking. I love the time with him and think he's adorable helping me, but sometimes I just want to get something done and can do it a lot faster without my cute assistant.So I found a way to keep us both happy! When I was mixing up the bottom layer of my granola bars the other night Wyatt really wanted to help. He REALLY wanted the mound of flower and sugar to play in. So I just gave him his own little bowl of flour.

Who knew this would keep him busy for so long! He was up on his chair so he thought he was helping me and I got to get my mixing and baking done in no time!

Bubbles!

The other night I asked Wyatt if he wanted to go outside and get some fresh air. Oh my did this kid miss being outside. He ran and ran and ran. He rode his bike, he pulled his wagon, he pushed his wheel barrel around, he played at his sand table and then we blew some bubbles. And we were only out there for about 40 minutes. :)He's gotten really good at blowing bubbles...

and then catching them.

And then spilling the bottle of bubbles. Guess that means were done with the bubbles since that was our last bottle!

All I can say is, Wow!

So after a week of worrying about Wyatt being sick, me having a couple small emotional breakdowns and studying his little butt off... (on top of working a couple 24 hour shifts) with very little sleep Collin had to take his first EMT exam tonight. He called me on his way to the class and said "I don't care if I get 81% or 99%, I just have to get above 80% to pass! Well he just sent me a text. He not only did well, he got the highest stinkin score in the class with a 90%.
He continues to amaze me!!

One day at a time!

That's what I had to keep telling myself when I heard this stupid virus can last up to a week. But, after a couple days of fever and vomiting, followed by a couple days of a throat full of open soars, Wyatt is getting more like himself each day. We sure will be glad when this week is behind us!At times Wyatt tried so hard to play, but just didn't have the energy.

So we had lots of naps

And when he couldn't sleep because his throat hurt too bad, we just snuggled. That was until I finally took him back to the doctor and she gave us some pain medication.

The blanket, bloppy and Mister Lamb were a constant at our house for 4 days.

As were the videos!

After two days of screaming in pain whenever he would try to eat, I finally got some food into him today. He really enjoyed his push-up. (Yep, that may even be a smile!!) And we think he is finally understanding that medicine will make him feel better. God knows we have said it a million times this week. So now when we come at him with medicine he willingly opens his mouth and says in the saddest, more precious voice you could ever hear, "feel better, right?" Ya, that's just one of the moments my tears came running out. It's amazing how easily you cry when you are sleep deprived. But thanks to some pain medication Wyatt was able to get some sleep last night and took a 4 1/2 hour nap today. He had some serious catching up to do in the sleeping department.

Breaks my heart!

So some sort of nasty flu bug came into our house last night and hit Wyatt like a freight train! He was great all day, then at 6pm sharp, he was down for the count. By 6:30 his fever was 102 and he was so lethargic I almost panicked! Good thing Collin was around to keep me sane.This has been our little man for most of today. Pretty tired after a night of puking and fighting a fever. And I have to say, after sleeping with him in his bed, I am really wishing we had taken the extra money and gotten him a better mattress! There have been some weird bugs going around his daycare, so we went to the doctor today and he had to have a strept test. That was NO fun. I almost cried as much as Wyatt. But thankfully it was negative. So it's that lovely, 'treat the symptoms' type thing and keep him hydrated. I was quite please that we got a little snack in him as well as a little fluids before he crashed for nap. And with Collin working tonight, I think we may take advantage of the big comfy bed to ourselves!

Visit with G'ma and P'pa

Collin had the weekend off (finally!) so he and Wyatt went down to Castle Rock for the day on Friday.The 'three Bubs' went on a little adventure that included ringing the old bell at the post office.

These are out of order, but the day started with a wonderful breakfast prepared especially by P'pa himself. Wyatt then had to return the favor and made P'pa some of his special 'waffles.'

Let the fun begin!

Wyatt and I spent a lot of time in the bathroom this weekend! We 'officially' started potty training.Wyatt loves his Elmo Potty book. This pictures was taken yesterday, but today we hit our first milestone. Wyatt went pee for the first time in his potty! Who knew we would ever get so excited over a little peeing!?

He is alive!!

So I was looking at a few of the old posts and realized Collin has been quite absent from the blog lately. So I thought I would update you on what he has been doing the last few weeks.This is it!!
On top of doing 24 hour shifts at the station, having to learn the engine inventories, map tests, and completing chapters in his rookie book, Collin has EMT school 4 nights a week from 6pm to 10pm. If he is on shift he just leaves for those few hours, but on his days off, he has class and then has to get up at 5 the next morning for his shift. Needless to say, his is exhausted! I sure am proud of him. I can't imagine trying to study when you on running on 4 to 5 hours sleep a night and have a two year old running around the house. We are literally counting the days until he is done with EMT school. Then we will be counting the days until his is off probation.
BUT every time I ask him if he is still happy he made the career change, he gets a huge smile on his face and says 100%!! Plus he got to fight his first structure fire the other day and loved every second of it.

What do you do when you have an abundance of apples given to you? Make apple pie! This was probably the second apple pie I have made in my life, but I was told the men at Station 22 really enjoyed it.Wyatt loved rolling out the dough!

And what do you do when you are given a gigantic zucchini? More baking!
Wyatt was a huge help chopping the zucchini.

They had a little extra cinnamon in them since this was Wyatt's favorite part.

He thought the flour/sugar mixture was the perfect place for some digging. I thought this was so funny that I had to snap a picture before I made him get his toys out of the food.

What a great kid, he even cleans up after himself!!

And I still have 1/2 of the zucchini left! My goal by the end week is to get Wyatt to eat it cooked. we will see...

O`R`E`O

Wyatt LOVES Oreo cookies so the other night we taught him how they should be eaten! He had a blast dunking them and had quite the messy face afterwards.

Wyatt's first Husky Game (kind of)

Our family has been going to Husky Football games since I can remember. I don't remember my first one, but I do remember going often as a kid and love going as an adult. And now with a Ferndale alum as the star of the team, it's kind of like a reunion each time we go. And needless to say Papa can't wait to take Wyatt and Cole to a game. Some day they will actually make it to the game, but this year, tailgating was enough.

Kim and I had nothing to do on Saturday so we took the boys and met up with everyone for the pregame festivities. We all know that's the best part anyways!

Cousin Kevin flew in from Hawaii for this week's game and really go into the spirit of things.

It was quite warm, so the boys kept cool by playing in some ice!

Wyatt and Auntie Linda practice their touchdown cheer. Too bad it didn't go as well as we had hoped this week.

Wyatt loves 'working out!' So much that he worked out with Daddy this morning.

And then did Pilates with me this evening. Now that's dedication. I on the other hand was laughing so hard I couldn't work out. He was trying so hard to copy the lady on the video.

He'll make a great husband some day!

(Wyatt actually gets excited when I start to do dishes and runs to get his chair so he can help. Tonight he kept saying, "Momma play dishes!")

And he will be a great Daddy!
Yesterday while I was at work, he and Mr. Lamb had a great morning (with daddy supervising!) Wyatt read to him, tucked him into bed and even rocked him after reading him a story.

New Best Friend

Wyatt's new best friend is our dinning room chair. He has discovered that he can haul it wherever he needs help reaching something.Ha! Momma thinks I can't get my bloppy (pacifier) when she puts them on my dresser! I will show her!!

Do the Puyallup

Wyatt had his first trip to the Puyallup Fair this afternoon/evening.

Washing up after visiting the animals. I actually think Wyatt enjoyed this more than the animals. The boy loves to wash his hands, and a sink at his level. What could be better!

They had a very neat stable set up where the kids could go in and 'milk' a pretend cow. It was pretty cute.

Then it was time to hit the rides!!! Wyatt shocked me and loved the rides. He was all smiles and even cried when it was time to get off.

I think having his buddy Henry to hold his hand helped a lot. :)

I know this isn't the best picture, but Wyatt was just so darn grown up, it was killing me. He just handed the lady his ticket and climbed on in the car. What's next a real car??

Collin couldn't join us since he was on shift and had EMT class tonight, so I took lots of pictures and this is Wyatt on his very first ride ever! The best part was that we just happened to be there on "All rides $1 day" so we could afford several rides!! :)
