Wyatt likes to fish!!

Who knew!
We headed out to Arrowhead Lake to visit some friends. Wyatt and Henry were SO excited to see each other. I am not sure who squealed louder when we pulled up.
It wouldn't be a visit with Henry without a good wrestling match.
Then we headed down to the lake for some fishing. Heaters told us about a great deal on kids fishing poles, but we didn't bother because we figured, well, why bother. I guess we should have spent the couple bucks and gotten him one. But Henry was, well... ok with sharing his. As you can see Wyatt had a blast!!
Our two little fishermen!
I love this shot. Henry was being oh so patient for his turn with the pole.
No fish today. Wyatt basically just liked reeling in the line...over and over again
Thank you so much for sharing Henry!!!

'I make nummies!'

Wyatt is always very curious when I am cooking or baking, so last night I had him help me bake.Just the right amount of flour
Then we have to stir
I learned a very important lesson today. Don't ask your 2 year old to help cook on the same day that you swept, mopped and vacuumed the entire house. It just makes it heartbreaking to see your kitchen floor when he is done. :)
Yum! The finished product... Blueberry-oatmeal bars.

My new hobby

Now that we have a nice camera, I find myself taking pictures all the time. And not just of Wyatt. :) Here are a few that I took while in Ocean Shores that I have been playing with. Someday I would love to get photo shop for our computer so I can play even more. Maybe Santa is listening. :)
The Burkes
I LOVE the coloring on this one of Nathan and Cole. I didn't play with it at all. You gotta love natural settings!!
Nana and Papa and their two boys.
I liked this one for the fact that you can see Kim making sure nobody falls. :)
I told Kim this one turned out so good I think I should charge her a sitting fee!

More Ocean pictures

Here Auntie, have some of my crackers!
You're right Papa that is quite a view.
The boys helped Papa open his birthday present. OK, so it's a month early, but we knew he would need it next week for the first Husky game, so he got it early.
What a view!

Wyatt has become quite the dancer lately. Here he teaches Nana some of his moves.
Since it was just Wyatt and I, we got to share a bed. He looked so grown up! He did really well and went to bed great each night! He didn't even wake up the several times he slapped me or stuck his finger up my nose. I learned very quickly how to sleep with a foot in my back as well.

Horses

Wyatt loved visiting the horses on the beach! I have to say I was quite surprised that he was so willing to pet them. In fact the second time we went to see them he didn't even want me to hold him.
He also loved watching them.
The last time we went to see them, he kept saying "Ride horsey." So I signed the form and the gentleman was nice enough to let us try free of charge. Well Wyatt was all talk. When it came time you can see how close we got.
Cousin Cole sat there, but wasn't too sure about it.

Elmo Kite

It wouldn't be a trip to the beach without flying a kite!

We had to call Daddy and tell him what we were doing!

I think he liked just chasing the tail around the best.

Ocean Shores

Wyatt and I joined the rest of my family at Ocean Shores for two nights earlier this week. It was kind of bitter-sweet. It was Wyatt's first time at the ocean and he loved it and being with family was a blast, but we sure missed Daddy, who had to stay home to work and study.
I have so many good pictures that it will take me a while to get them all on the blog, but more to come! The rain finally stopped for a little while Sunday evening so we got to head down to the beach. Wyatt LOVED it. He just ran and ran. Luckily we had great weather on Monday and Tuesday so we got to enjoy the beach a lot more!
And Cole tried his best to keep up! I have lots of pictures of the backs of them. I wasn't fast enough to catch them from the front.
This kid cracks me up! He is so easy going and LOVES to be dirty. He was covered in sand within 5 minutes of getting to the beach and loved every second of it.
Wyatt is more of a watcher. He loved watching the waves, or 'oosh' as he liked to call it. He had to stop and wipe off his hands anytime he got the least bit of sand on them.
I think Cousin Cole takes after his Daddy! You will notice who is on his knees in the sand and who is just observing.
But you add a 'dig, dig' and that's a different story!

Papa and Wyatt take a walk to look at the kites.
While Auntie Jo and Cole fill the bucket. I think by this point, Cole had eaten about a 1/2 cup of sand. At one point the shovel made a perfect spoon for getting it in his mouth!
I asked Wyatt if he wanted to take his shoes off like Cole and he said yes, but this was his reaction when we tried to walk in the sand.
This picture really shows Cole's personality!

This sure was a fun trip, but we sure missed Daddy!!!!
Now back to reality. I started the work the morning after we got back. I was so grateful that Wyatt and I got to spend so much time together to finish off our summer.

Look Mama, I cook!

So one day last week Wyatt wanted cheese for breakfast (the kid loves his cheese) I said no, but you can have cheese on your eggs. After getting the eggs out, I ran into the bedroom to ask Collin if he wanted some...When I came out Wyatt had gotten an egg out of the container and the frying pan from the cupboard and yells, "Look Mama, I cook!"
He actually got the pan on the stove with the egg in it, without cracking it. I let him hand me the eggs as I cracked them, then he got to add the cheese. He thought he was pretty hot stuff. Now if he can just learn to do the dishes!

More Zoo

I just realized that I didn't really post pictures of Wyatt looking at the animals! So here's a few more of the zoo today. Checking out the reindeer and Wyatt yelling his word of the day "Whoa!"
Watching the 'sea aa-hers'
Wyatt loved the tiger and 'roarrrred' very loudly at it.
"cool, monkeys"
And one more of the ice cream, just cause it's so cute! He was ever so gentle.
