Murphy & Crawford Boys

Kristen, my friend from work has two boys (Sam 10 and Charlie 5).  Whenever these 4 get together they play so well and usually come home sweaty and exhausted.  Caden and Charlie are quite a pair as you can see by the picture.  They crack me up! It is probably a good thing that Charlie will start school a year ahead of Caden.  They could cause some serious trouble if they were in the same class. :)  And yes, Charlie is a year and a half older and Caden is bigger.  AND Wyatt isn't much shorter then Sam who is 3 years older then him.

Day of Surprises!

 Well we may have been unsuccessful at surprising Dad on his 60th birthday, but we were HUGELY successful at getting Mom, TWICE! :)

Kim and I took Mom shopping for the day and went to get a bite to eat at Olive Garden, and Surprise #1!  Lunch with all the ladies!

After a great lunch the three of us headed back to shopping while everyone else 'headed home.'

 Then Mom came home to a houseful of friends and family, including those of us that had been at lunch. :)

 Mia was full of kisses all evening.

On the job

 Boys and I hung out with Daddy and the guys for a while this evening.  After a yummy pizza dinner they went out on a call. The boys run to the ap bay to watch them leave, but are so worried they might use the sirens.  Even though as they were climbing in, Cpt. Bruce says, 'don't worry guys no sirens on this call'

Lucky for us, 'no sirens' also means they aren't gone very long :)
Then the boys had fun helping Daddy restock the supplies.  

As we were leaving the station tonight, Wyatt says, 'I love my Dad. I like going to visit him at work.  That just made my day!'

In a house full of wrestling matches, cars, diggers, Spiderman and Star Wars, it's nice to see little pieces of me.

Wyatt has been really into teaching Caden how to read and do math lately.  The other day I overheard him getting frustrated with him saying, 'Caden just read what it says!'

Followed by Collin, 'you know your brother is only 3 and can't read, right Wyatt?'

"Oh, thanks dad!'

I guess that's why he decided to back up a bit and focus on letters.

Wyatt and Momma Day

Wyatt had to go to Children's hospital for a second opinion on his nasty toe nails.  He was quite surprised when they made him gown up.  But he sure looked cute.  He did SO good.  Because of my history, they did a full body check and he was so patient while they did that. I had told him that if he sat still we could go to McDonalds.  He sat so good for them while they took nail samples from his toes that we added a milkshake. 
I just have to add, that in the morning I was griping that I had to drive all the way to Seattle for stupid toenails and was sick of dealing with them.  After two minutes in Children's hospital I was sure knocked back a few feet.  I am now SO SO thankful that toenails are our biggest worries.  It was just heartbreaking to see so many sick kiddos walking around with their machines, their little bald heads or masked face.  And I am so thankful for the amazing nurses and doctors that treat them. I know I sure couldn't do that on a daily basis.  And the guy who took Wyatt's blood.  AMAZING!  So fast and gentle.  Wyatt was pretty nervous and when he was done he just laughed and said, 'Mom I didn't even barely feel that!'

We ended the trip with a trip to McDonalds and driving by Husky Stadium. Wyatt was SO excited to do that. Whenever we drive north he just can't wait to see the stadium and was in awe seeing it up close.  Oh and according to Wyatt, 'they are almost done, just a few finishing touches!'  The nurses were telling us that we should park down by the water and see the boats and walk around the stadium. I really wish I hadn't had to get back for conferences.  Wyatt would have loved that.

Sleepy Boys

 It's been a while since I have taken sleeping pictures of the boys. Sometimes they look so comfy and cozy I want to snuggle in with them. Other times we get a pretty good chuckle out of their positions.  Wyatt has settled down and pretty much stays under his covers now, even under his pillow at times. :)

Caden on the other hand, you are never sure what you will see when you peak in on him.  Many times he is in a ball on the foot of his bed.  The last few nights, I guess he has had fun stacking all of his friends and loveys up.  But hey they both sleep for 11 to 12 hours a night, so they can sleep how ever they want! :)

Trustworthy kiddo! :)

 As a teacher, I give a little moan when that monthly email comes out saying we have to nominate our monthly character trait. Not that I don't like rewarding my kiddos, I just don't like the pressure of having to come up with some great profound statement to put on the award.  But as a parent, my heart ached with pride as I watched Wyatt get the 1st grade award today and when I read what his teacher had to say about him.

 Last year Wyatt kind of had little melt downs when he won awards. He just couldn't handle getting up in front of a couple hundred people I guess.  So we always told him ahead of time.  This year we decided to see how he would do if we didn't warn him.  He did great!  And loved running through the Spirit Tunnel!

Halloween Festivities

 Tuesday was Halloween day at Preschool. Caden insisted on being Octopus Prime :)

Which cracks me up because 1. he can't say it correctly and 2, he has never seen or heard of the Transformers.

So fun to see all the cheerleaders, animals, and superheros.

 Caden was pretty upset when we told him he couldn't wear Octopus Prime for trick or treating.  (Too small to wear anything under it and it's thin as paper)  He had about 8 other costumes that we have around here to choose from so don't feel too sorry for him. :)

 First stop, G'ma and P'pas!  And some trick or treating in our old neighborhood.

 Next stop...Auntie Linda's for dinner and more treats!

 The boys were so excited to use their flashlights and we were so excited the rain stopped long enough for us to get some candy and head home.
