Brave boy

Collin noticed that Caden's tooth was very loose and said, "Hey buddy, if we floss that tooth will come right out!"  Caden says, "Ok, let's go!" And headed to the bathroom.

Camping

 Everyone was so excited to go camping!  Got a new tent to fit all of us, 80 degree forcast everything was great. 

 First night was 'amazing' (inside joke for Aimee and John!) Perfect weather, excellent dinner and yummy smores.

 Boys crashed hard, then us adults were kept awake by a screaming child until 2am.  But no worries, we woke to another beautiful day.

 This kid had a blast, drawing a map of our campsite, hanging out in the hammock, riding bikes, digging in the dirt

 Had a little thunder and rain. Boys were champs. Hung out like this for about an hour while we waited it out.

 When the sun came back out it was off to the Lake again.  Collin and Wyatt had a blast on their first canoe trip.  Caden wanted nothing to do with it, so he and I watched from the beach.

 It was about at this point we heard thunder and saw the lightening on the other side of the lake.  Needless to say, time to get out of the boat!

 Headed back to camp to wait this storm out.  Well, this was a biggy.  As you can see on the ground behind the boys...not only thunder, lightening, pouring rain, but hail with no sight in end.  While John and Aimee packed up to head home, Collin tried to start a fire to cook dinner.  That's when we looked at each other and the sky and started loading the car.  We had 2 very sad boys.  They were troopers and wanted to stay.  Right as we were explaining to them we would hit McDonalds for dinner instead of trying to cook in this weather there was a long, load roll of thunder and they quickly agreed and hoped in the car.

They were great!  Didn't get dinner until about 7.  They never complained once but ate dinner in record time.  We didn't get home until after 9 and had 2 very tired boys. It was interesting to see the difference in how they act when they are tired.  Wyatt was very quiet, almost lethargic at times.  Caden on the other hand, wow, Mr. Goofy  Didn't stop jabbering the entire way home.  At one point he says, Mom I am only half tired.  The part behind the pillow is tired, the half of me you see is wide awake! 

Lakefair 3K!

Boys were so excited to do a race with me. At the 3/4 mile caden says he has already lost his running skills, 1.25 mile marker he says mom I am never doing this again...right after that I am piggybacking his for the rest. Got down to finish and was SO excited to hear them announce his name as he finished.

Tough guy

After several years, numerous creams, visits to a podiatrist,  dermatologist AND pediatric dermatologist we finally conceded that Wyatt's big toenails haf to come off. While discussing the procedure with the doctor it was mentioned that Moms are sometimes asked to leave while they numb him. Well I knew I couldn't sit in the waiting room and hear him so Collin took him. Well I was ok with it until I got a text from him saying 'he is numb,  good thing you weren't her.' My poor Bub. But once he was numb it was easy sailing. Took just a few minutes and after a dose of hugs and frozen yogurt he was good as new. We were told to give him 3 days of staying off of his feet to limit the throbbing. I kept waiting for the numbness to wear off and him to complain. But that never happened. Every went well. Oh except when  Collin changed the bandages and Wyatt looked. Darn kid nearly passed out on us. I was just glad Collin was home to carry him to the couch.  The next day when I had to change the I made him hold a pillow on his lap so he couldnt look.

Fourth of July

We started the day off at the Tumwater parade. Then a picnic lunch to celebrate Nana Billie's birthday. After a quick swim at Cousin Kristin's pool it was time for a BBQ and some fireworks.  Sorry the pictures are in reverse order. I just figured out how to post from my phone so I am still learning all the details.

This pretty much sums up the boys' personalities.  Wyatt was a little unsure of sparklers.  Just held it straight out in one hand. Caden...well he had one in each hand and danced up and down the street.

Collin some how ended up with the job of lighting every sparkler on the street. ;)

Wyatt surprised me when he said he wanted to light his own smoke bombs. :)

Bye bye Camry

After almost 13 years and 200,000 miles it was time to say good bye to our reliable old friend. I have to say I never thought I would be attached to a car. But 13 years....one year of commuting, bringing babies home from the hospital and so many trips. Its weird to think that the way we hold on to cars, this will be the one the boys learn to drive in!
Collin picked out a VERY gas efficient VW Sportswagen. Cars have come a long ways in 13 years. We dont even need a key! So many buttons so many new things to figure out. The boys and I got to go 'make the trade' they were pretty excited. They are convinced we bought a robot and have already named it War Machine. I think that also shows how our boys have changed, since we traded in 'Lighting McQueen.'
